Looking for a better Benchmade 710D2 - suggestions requested.

You guys are gonna hate me, but I went and bought another BM710D2.

Either the handle is more robust that my earlier one or most likely it was all in my head, but this one seems pretty stout. I've had it for a few days now. I still do not like the G10 scales, even though they are quite grippy (which I like, don't try and figure me out, I can't) but I think this is the best knife going in the price range and I plan to stick (no pun intended) with this one. Grand Prairie Knives picked out a really nice one for me. I grabbed a Blue Box Toolkit as well.

I'm not at all surprised you don't care for the G10 handles on the 710, due to the weight reduction holes in the metal liner, they do have a light feel to them, but the knife is sturdy and is unlikely to fail you. If you can track it down they made a few variations with aluminum handles and G10 inlays.

I got an Ambush and it's awesome it's like a giant griptilian. It has an aluminum handle and a low price tag. It's discontinued so get one while they last.
