looking for a bivy bag

Don't know if such a thing exists. But I'd like to find a waterproof, brethable shell for my sleeping bag. that has some extra pading or insulation on the bottom so I can ditch my thermarest..Has anyone heard of such a thing? Thanks.

I've never seen such a thing. Supposing such a thing exists I can't envisage it being any lighter than using a light bivy bag / pressure blown foam combo. The only thing I can think of that had a mat built in was some Fairydown sleeping bags.

I have an Integral Designs Salathe (http://www.trailspace.com/gear/integral-designs/salathe/) and it's a nice piece of gear. You could easily slip a very lightweight foam Ridgerest or Z-rest pad into it and it would meet your requirements, I think. (I prefer foam pads to the heavier Thermarest pads)
