ESEE Avispa in D2 is another option.

I've never owned a Ruike. Steel Will, or Kizer but they are apparently a great bang for the buck from what I've read on this forum.

I used to own a Kizer Vanguard Gemini. I bought mine locally and it was a nice knife. The quality was really good as far as fit & finish goes. My one and only complaint would be the flimsy handles due to extremely thin liners. I could actually make the handles bend inward with little pressure by pinching it with the blade open. As far as VG10 blade steel goes, it is one my favorites and as mentioned already, is not a budget steel. I would put it on par with 154cm and ATS34.

buy something made by BUCK, their knives are excellent with a good warranty and of course it always feels great to buy American whenever possible.

What would his options be for a Buck with a flat grind and "OK steel", which he is asking about?

If you can bump your price range to 60, spyderco has the polestar. I like mine and it is my beater knife. Bd1 steel and a nice longer cutting edge.
