New to Busse. Just put my first order in for my daughter for a Christmas gift. Well a late Christmas gift.

i am looking for a knife for myself. Not sure of all the names and styles. Looking for a blade length of 5-6” and a tall height to the blade. Heading back to Arnhem Land in August to hunt buffalo with some friends. Would love to break in a new strong knife there. Very remote place. Town is at the end of a 12 hour dirt road. Wanting a well made strong knife. Something to help cut up a buffalo as well as a good camp knife.
What models should I be looking for?

thanks for any help

Camp tramp one on knife hunter apart from my hog b8 for wood processing it's getting to most use deep blade with the classic clip convexed edge res c handle awesome and fairly light for the size

Infimandu FHFG. Perfect all around knife in the size range you are looking for. Also it is easy to find at a decent price, at the moment.
Trying to figure out all the models and what the letters mean. What’s the difference between this knife you mentioned and the one available on there website all the time?

Bussekin model and letter designation? Oh, that’s easy. But I’ve been at this game for six years now.

Can be a damn sight bewildering when first starting out. Perhaps someone here could provide a helpful link for you. I need to head out. Christmas errands be calling.

One other thing. What would be your cost parameters? Know you will find something to well suit your needs. Good luck in your choice.

I have two INFImandu’s FHFG in either muddy brown and red micarta or satin and black micarta. I can sell you one if you want to PM me, although you can find them for sale everywhere. In my opinion, you’ll likely want something smaller, like a Game Warden for processing game. For the climate you’re heading to, I recommend INFI.

Edit: I thought you were going to Arnhem Denmark, but you’re heading to Northeastern Australia, right? I’d look for a Bunker Buster for an all around perfect camp knife.

This is a sexy INFImandu FHFG that just sold this morning...I should have ordered this configuration.

Yep in Australia. Pretty remote area. Was there this year. Wife shot a buffalo. 2000lb animal. Lots and lots of big chunks of meat.

can you send me a message and pictures of what you have for sale please? I can’t figure messaging out on here.

Nice! You will need a paid membership for PMs but you can email me at christconnell at yahoo and I can help you find something.

Mate have a great trip!! Arnhem land is on my bucket list, one of the most remote places you can go.

As others have said Ratmandu in INFI with a full height flat grind would be perfect. Just take a ceramic sharpening stone or strop to touch it up.

It’s a awesome place. We were there this past year. We don’t have places that remote here in the States. Leaving early in the morning. Driving all day on a dirt road. Over 12 hours. Very pretty country. Worth the trip up if you get the chance

The Ratmandu in either INFI or SR101 would be a great start. Stout knife. SR101 takes an amzing edge and holds it well. The knives are coated so any corrosion shouldn't be too much of an issue. Like all quality tools, a clean and dry off when finished using and you'll have no problems.

The RMD is one of their best models IMO.

Perfect size for a general all around use blade.

A couple great classic models in INFI to check out would be an ASH (Anniversary Steel Heart) , Tank Buster, or Boss Jack. Also, there should be a few INFI Ratmandus RMD around. Different stuff pops up on the exchange here regularly and you can usually just google "Busse" and the name of the blade for plenty of pictures. On the site currently is an SR101 Ratmandu which I don't have but there is lots of love around here for it and it's less expensive than the INFI blades.... However, like most of us around here I started by wanting just one, actually in the same size range you are looking for, and now have a bit of a collection. It's a slippery slope. Welcome!!
