Recommendation? Looking for a camping/food prep fixed blade

One of my favorite kitchen knives doubles as our camping knife. It’s called the Marttiini Mini Chopper (also called the Big Bear Skinner at some shops). I got mine for $15 and it came with a polished, hair popping edge from the factory - best value in my knife experience.
Man, that Marttiini Mini Chopper looks very nice indeed. And the handle seem very ergonomic. What's the blade length ? It looks smaller than that of the upcoming Cabin Chef (and that's a good thing).

This modified Old Hickory slicer may work well in camp.

A Buck Selkirk or 119 is a good cheap one. Also, a Kabar Mk1 Navy knife or a BK 18.
Almost forgot, the Old Hickory line up is perfect as long youre handy enough to modify them and sharpen them some.

The knife itself doesn't matter as much as it's sharpness...

I won't spend much for a knife just to cut bacon in the morning. A Mora Companion does the trick for less than $20 and everyone gets their own color.

Now that IS a problem...
You need to buy one of those whizbang as advertised on TV Twenty dollar nonslip specials!

It's been over 4 years - I certainly hope the OP has selected a knife for camp food prep by now. (Heck, he's still a member, I hope he's grabbed a few working options by now). If not, I'll echo the past recommendation of a boker SanYouGo and/or ChefYouGoView attachment 1782390
(Not my image - but I'm pretty sure those are my knives)

Food prep knives typically accel in performance when the edge is proud of the fingers allowing the heal of blade easy contact with flat surface (cutting board, etc.).
This Extrema Ratio Shrapnel One (11.29" OA / 6.2" blade length / 0.24" thick / Bohler N690 / ez removable handle) is a good example of a Tacticool Food Prep Knife (a stout Chef's knife).

Interestingly, I am looking to grind the food prep-ability out of this particular knife (will see the grinder, or a different/new owner soon ;-)
Would be interested in trade options (Mamba, Dobermann, etc.) via PM (please do not trash this thread with off OP subject reply's).
