Looking for a cheap edc

I don't know where you think the RAT-1 is assisted. It's not.
Neither the RAT-1 or RAT-2 are assisted.

The Skyline is also not assisted. It has a flipper, but it's a manual flipper, no spring.

Both are Manual opening knives. Good ones at that.

I have 3 of the Acid Etched Dragons and all 3 open as smooth as Silk.! Have 11 of the Dragons all together (i guess you could say I kinda like them just a bit.*) lol

Me too...I've been using and collecting Spyderco's since they first came out, and the Dragonfly is the model I have multiples of; 3 with G-10, a serrated Salt, a plain edge Salt, a ZDP-189, and a lightweight in plain edge. Now, if they would come out with an identical model on steroids, with a 3" blade, that would be my permanent EDC.

While I agree on the awesome color selection, your information about the opening mechanism is inaccurate. They may be as fast as an assisted opener, but there is no spring.

agreed, my RATs are lightning fast, but are manuals

Im a little pissed now, i was so pumped to find & get an assisted RAT 1. It would be my >$100 grail knife!!!

If you want something that feels like an assisted knife, don't get the Skyline. I only have one knife with IKBS (ball bearings) and it's the CRKT Ripple, I showed it to my brother who only has assisted knives and he thought it was assisted. The only thing I don't like about the Ripple is the pocket clip.

I would go with a SAK or a nice slipjoint for EDC.

I owned a Spyderco Native and could open it with a flick of the wrist (that's a big no-no in New York)

But are one handed opening folders legal in NYC if you can't open them with a wrist flick?
