Looking for a cheap knife

I'd probably go with an SAK, simply because they're accepted nearly everywhere, the stainless steel blades can take a bit of abuse and do well in humid areas, and the other tools are also quite handy to have around, especially in an unfamiliar place.

Either an Opinel or a Vic Soldier. Both are cheap, but work well.

a queen sodbuster (country cousin) will get you a knife in d2 for under $30

for a really low cost locking folder something from Sanrenmu, Land or Navy should be $10 or less and be pretty nice for the money, on par with anything from the Byrd line. these are the only companies that make decent pocket knives for the Chinese domestic market, but many are exported.
