Looking for a clean simple knife

so i did some more digging and found the kershaw piston, now i know it isnt exactly like what i outlined above...

but i have access to a CNC, i might be able to CNC my own metal handle.. hardest part would be sourcing the material to be honest.

i love the price of it, and nutnfancy gave it a great review.

thoughts?

i dont want to go over $150 as this will be my first EDC and abuse is in store.

orixa, i agree with everything you have said!

Very good suggestions by others too!

ill keep looking around, i want to purchase one some time this week.

ALL of these knives (with the exception of spyderco) (i dont like the hole in the blade) have been BEAUTIFUL!

Like Goat83 said, Benchmade 940 or 943 (different blade shapes). Less than $150 gets you super smooth deployment with an Axis lock, S30V steel, aluminum handles & thumb studs. It's medium size/duty so can handle any everyday cutting task and looks gentlemanly enough for those nicer occasions or conferences.

Spyderco makes several SS & Ti models that'd fit your requirements but if you don't like the hole, they're not for you:( I own a couple, but am not a big fan of their deployment either.

Kershaw has several SS versions & Sandvik (like on the Piston) ain't bad steel. I haven't owned a Sebbie as I feel they are too expensive for me as well... But looking more reasonable day by day;)

Look around for a used Sebenza. I bit the bullet and bought a few years ago. Now I am enjoying Opinel knives. The Opinel design has been around since 1890 but the concept of the design for centuries. It is now part of my EDC rotation which includes Chris Reeve, Spyderco, and Kershaw.

You can't get simpler than Opinel for a folder.

For real plain knives, the Sebenza would fit your bill if you are looking for high end. If you want something real cheap, there is the CRTK Drifter, the new Cold Steel Code 4's, and the Kershaw Cryo.

A lot of folks here mentioned em already but I'd like to second or third or whatever the Bradley Alias or the Spyderco Sage II.

As a recent Spyderco convert (not really, but I like their knives) I just bought a VG10 FFG Endura 4 (orange) and it looks like a very handy knife for the simple task of cutting stuff. And it that's all you want to do with it I think Spyderco make a pretty good slicer.
