Looking for a compact utility folder

The trouble is not what we think is threatening. It's what others do. Sadly, sometimes even a macguyver style SAK scares the crap out of some. Just be aware of the kind of people around you.

Makes me grateful to live where I do.

The dragonfly salt H1 serrated is the best overall small utility /EDC knife ever IMO> I have used mine for years doing everything from electrical to carpentry. Ripping screws out of dry wall, shaving down 2x4's for joyces. Cut up a bunch of boxes today at work. Its super light, cheap, easy to sharpen and keeps a great edge. cant go wrong. I own lots of knives. I always carry this. @lemons_edc
Good luck with your search.

Spyderco Dragonfly is the one to rule them all in this category for me. The Native5 LW might be worth a look for something a little larger. Check out the new Delica wharncliffe too.

Great advice as always guys. Much appreciated!

I just went by my local knife shop and managed to get my hands on the Tuff Lite and the Dragonfly2. In terms of feel, they couldn't be more different. The wharncliffe blade on the Cold Steel is five kinds of sexy, but the handle seemed a bit big and bulky. The scales on the Spyderco were more slim and streamlined (not to mention the increased grip due to the FRN) but the blade's shape isn't my cup of tea. Plus it just felt too small for my hands. Combine the good and subtract the bad and it appears I'll be looking into the Delica wharncliffe. My online source was restocked today, and my local shop is getting their shipment next week.

As to the question about what I find scary or daunting in a blade; well it's more about what would be viewed as a tool where I work, as opposed to a weapon. Wharncliffe or sheepsfoot blades resemble a box cutter sort of implement much more than something like a standard clip point. I meant it literally when I said I wanted a "utility" folder.
