Im sure this board gets approached a lot with custom requests, but I've called numerous knifemakes with no luck. Im trying to get a pair of custom folders made for me and my dad. Comparable to a case knife in design made out of a bucks horn I had shot and using the rifle casing rim I shot it with in the handle aswell. If anyone can point me in the direction to have this done, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

It's possible that the reason you are getting pushback is because of the handle material.

Did you shoot the buck recently? If so, then, others will know better than I, but isn't that called "green" antler and in need of drying and seasoning? Also, if it is a North American deer, the pith is often too porous for good handle material.

The best deer horn/antler material commonly used in knives comes from India, and is called Sambar stag. It has excellent density and small pith comparatively.

Best Regards,
