Looking for a custom folder

I'm looking for a custom folder I'd like based on some specific specs. So far, my search has been fruitless. I turn to you, my fellow blade nuts!
My specs are:

*4 to 4.5 inch blade
*frame or linerlock
*3/16 or 1/4 inch thick blade
*G10, micarta, or carbon fiber scale options
*price range around $500 (maybe more, it depends)
*The option for a duracoat blade (not nessecary, but preferred)

Weight isn't really an issue for me, I don't mind carrying a monster in my pocket (as I'm sure you can tell by the specs). I'd also like to find one with a flipper. So, anyone have a suggestion?

Check out Direware. They make some tanks with different scale options. But get ready for a wait. I am halfway through my 7 month wait! And I think it might be longer now.

Looking for a full custom or just a production model that has been costumed?

Also, what do you consider a "monster"? Any ideas on weights?

Medford knives are beasts, and also very high quality, but they're not exactly custom, but sort of custom.

Here is a knife I got from Matt Diskin

It's actually a Mid Tech but that line is a fine one IMHO

Titanium frame

Frame lock

Elmax Blade

Thrust Bearings

Carbon Fober or lightening strike CF

BTW it's also a Double Action :)

+1 on Direware. I also have an order in (8 month wait) but in my oppinion it is well worth it... In fact, i even put the thought of ordering a Hinderer on hold for a while to get the Solo V-2.

By monster, I mean I really don't care how much it weighs, blade width, etc. I think too many people are picky about the weight of a knife. The only reason you should be concerned about stuff like that, is if you're in the military (or you're a LEO) and have a overall gear weight limit.

Willumsen's Perock is awesome, but I don't have $995.00 to shell out for it. Jake Hoback's A15 fits the bill perfectly, I'll be sending him an email shortly. I'm mainly looking for clip points, spear points, and tantos (tantos that don't look like glorified box cutters).

what if it pulls your shorts off and bruises your foot on the way down?
What if it tears out your pockets??
I seriously look forward to seeing what beast you find.
(and the pantaloons in which you choose to tote it. :))

why do you want this knife?

@Lorien. I'm going to be using it for many things, but to sum it all up... heavy EDC and offensive/defensive weapon.:) I've owned my fair share of folders, from cheap chinese made crap to my current Spyderco Manix 2 XL, and I think I'm ready for my very first custom blade. Something that's aesthetically appealing, but also a serious using tool, y'know?

@daizee
What if it presses against your leg too hard while you're sitting down and you get an owie?:( Seriously though, I'll probably end up getting Jake Hoback's A15, unless someone here can show me something I like better...?

I think the Hoback is an excellent choice. You might also want to check out Andrew Demko, specifically his AD10. With the option of .10" titanium liners and a massively thick and heavy blade made out of a list of super-steels to choose from, that knife is truly a beast. Not to mention the famous Tri-ad lock as well.

The AD10 looks nice, but it's not for me, I'm not a big fan of backlocks. My first custom was going to be a Dervish Nephilim, but John told me he has a backlog of over four years. I was also considering a Hinderer XM-24, but Rick won't let anyone but active duty military personnel/LEO order directly from him. This normally wouldn't be an issue, but I can't find one on any of his dealer's sites (except Arizona Custom, but that was around $900).

you should get a Strider.
