  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Looking for a decent first actual Puukko

I have an Eräpuu with stacked birch bark handle and a Wood Jewel with birch/antler handle. Both are nice knives and can be found right at $100 or under. I believe both use Lauri blades. I have no experience with it, but the Kellam Wildwood looks just like my Eräpuu. Perhaps others can weigh in on the quality of Kellam knives.

I really like the feel of the stacked birch bark handle of my Eräpuu.

I've used all kinds i bought from ragweed forge. I've used karesuando, stromeng, jarvenpaa, wood jewelry, ahti, roselli, and a few others and I have to double down on ahti, it's very fairy priced, they are made extremely well and are definitely designed for years of use. Pick ahti and stick with it for a while.

Here is mine. Hand forged by Martti Malinen and with flame birch that really sparkles in the sun:
