looking for a dedicated fighter

The Cold Steel Tai Pan is well worth the money. It is the only dagger I've found to have great slashing capability with the thrust plus it's perfectly balanced.

Busse's I don't recommend honestly. Heavy and unbalanced for what you are looking for. I've had several over the years and none would be called a fighter in my definition. Save them for outdoors utility work.

Another I have is from Bud Nealy. It is the Kenpo Pick fighting knife. Doesn't meet all your criteria but it is still perfect for a true fighter imo.

I'm a bowie guy at heart though and prefer to train with these more times than not.

And Lynn Thompson is easy to pick on yes. However all the training time with Ron Balicki shouldn't be thrown out.

During my years lurking at BF I always lusted for that bowie of yours on the right. Saw it a long time ago. What can you tell em about it? Any more recent pics? Thanks!

I agree about the bowie. I love its versatility. James Williams referred to it as the best compromise among the three functions of a knife (slicing, chopping, and stabbing), as it does all three well. And a fighting bowie like your Bagwell will really shine. They can be tricky to conceal, but Mike Sastre and Rob Humelbaugh have some good ideas to assist with that.

Not to mention Bill Berg, Ernie Franco, Dan Inosanto, and others. Lynn Thompson spends more time knife training in a week than many other "experts" spend in six months. And he applies to his products what he learns while training, which is why they function well.

I'm with you. I'd like to know more about that beauty, as well!

I can back up what you say about Lynn Thompson. I had the opportunity to talk with Andrew Demko at length when he was building my Navaja. He couldn't keep up with the big guy.

Never judge a book by its cover.

By the way, the knives you've included in this thread are looking very nice, CM! Keep up the great work!

check out the Bastinelli RED. I love this fixed blade so much that I own three of them.

It's a Mandritta made by Rob Patton. I think it is the last he made as some back injuries has made him step away from knife making last I heard. It has a 11"+ blade with African Blackwood handle. All three are far different in feel even though they are designed as dueling pieces.

Have a look at "Japanese knives direct.com". Ichiro Hattori makes some excellent knives at reasonable prices. Also on same site is Kiku Matsuda knives. Some eye candy there as well. Hattori is the guy who makes Fallkniven' s, Al Mar, SOGs fixed blades and does a he'll of a job. Happy hunting.
White river knife and tool has a new fighter designed by Jerry Fisk that looks interesting too. Rite at your max $

Here's a smaller one... still quite capable.

Handmade Tuareg knife from the Sahara. Sharp, ultralight and cool skin sheath!

Have you looked at the Benchmade Nimravus or NimCub (depending on what blade length you want) it is fairly light, and thinner than I thought it would be when I got one.

I just got the opportunity to purchase a shiv from Nathan when it gets here I'll let you know but it screams fighter ........
A fighter that has NO problem nipping nails and cinder blocks ;)

In other words it's a fighter that probably won't fail under most uses as any good knife :)

I also would consider a knife by Charlie Mike . He has some sick designs
