Looking for a folder

I have been carrying fixed blade knives for EDC for 30 years. As of late I carry a Busse Active Duty most of the time and a Dozier K-6 if more discreet carry is needed. We have moved to Florida and I find that there are times when a folder would be way easier to conceal. I have never had to use my knives for anything more then opening a package or slicing up a salami but I have confidence that if I ever need to pry an interior door open I can do it. I have this fear that a folder will close up on me at the worst possible moment. Can someone please suggest a folder that can stand up to extreme use. I know they are not meant to be pry bars.

If your primary concern is not having the knife fold up I'd stick to fixed blades.

Having said that I would spend some time deducing which lock you would trust and then base the blade steel and design around that.

The axis lock and Cold Steel's version of the axis lock in my opinion are some of the strongest available so you may want to start your search with those two companies.

I've had liner locks fail and lock backs fail one me. I have not had a failure with frame locks or Axis locks. Not to say it that they can't fail as well of course..
