Looking for a folding blade thats made like a tank for $100 or less. Suggestions?

I will +1 the ZT 200, awesome knife, but you will definitely notice it in pocket compared to most, Manix 2 is another great choice, I'll also throw in the Gayle Bradley, you can get it for a couple dollars more than the 200 you found including shipping if you look around, it actually (I was surprised to see) has a thicker liner lock than the ZT 200 (less of a cut out) and the CPM-M4 toughness. Also if you don't mind waiting the Benchmade 275 Adamas should be coming out soon (around $130) which looks to be a beast of a knife, check out the thread in this subforum on it, pictures on page 3.

ZT 0200 would do just fine. it is a beast of a knife, and I carried it for 9 months. it is a nice knife and just reassuring to hold in your hand.

EDIT: also check out the JYD II. it is a beast, and has the same liner as the 0200, but the scales aren't as nice and the pocket clip is, say, a sore spot with me. it sucks, and the money for the STR clip is SO worth it.

Nobody mentioned it yet but the Kershaw Lahar fits into this category I say. Thick VG10 , G10 , Stainless liners , can easily be had for under a hundred. Great flipper too !

+1 for the cs recon 1 tanto. The triad lock is extremely solid and the blade is durable, even though it is only aus8, that only helps to make it cheaper. There are a few minor issues, such as the durability of the teflon coating and the tightness of the pocket clip. Plus, you can't argue with all of the torture tests cs puts their knives through, even if you don't like the marketing style. Also, i know there are a lot of mixed feelings about nutnfancy on this forum, but he did a pretty good review where he put it through some test. I edc mine everyday and im very pleased. I honestly dont think there is a stronger folder for the price of $60ish on amazon, but that is just my humble knife noob opinion.

Hey there, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm in the market for a heavy duty folder but I can't spend (much) over $100 as I am paying my way through college and work a minimum wage job :(

But I know there are probably plenty of good knives in that range :)

Some models I'm considering are the ZT0200 (found it for 117 shipped), ZT0350 and the Spyderco Manix 2. Does anyone have other suggestions or advice? Much appreciated!

The KaBar Mule is built like its namesake and can be had for less than $40 if you shop around a bit. Make sure you get the Zytel handled version with its AUS8 blade and not the G10 handled version with its 3Cr13 blade.

The AUS 8 is easy to sharpen to an exceeding keen edge and keeps an edge quite well.

Here's a nice review:
