Recommendation? Looking for a front flipper gentleman’s EDC - Wasabi?

No worries, just seeing if it was cheapo pot-metal "damascus". I'm sure they use something adequate enough. I'll probably buy one soon. Thanks for posting them man, all the reviews are exceptional. And...that price!

Yes they are made in Japan and somehow are able to get their stuff out for an exceptional price.

Are they really?
I have been trying to find them but not able to so far.
They are not sold on Japanese Amazon or anywhere I looked at.

It could be that they are not or just not sell in Japan (legal reasons).

Still nice knives.

Katsu not being found from Jp, (the company and sales therefrom) is probably because it's not from there, as your lingering suspects.

Might not like hearing this but I recall Katsu first becoming available with the very similarly styled Twobros knives available I think exactly like that, a Katsu/pseudo-Higo. Same mats. The probability that it is a rebrand to move away from it being a Twobros is a good yeah its high.

Look there. Still nice knife.. For what it is.

I am fine with them being vague about the country of origin, at least at the price point.
Seems like they say that the products are Japanese-style knives but not -made.

Also, it is still possible that they are based in Japan but not market here actively, just like Rockstead.

The Trevor Burger/TBC Knives EXK seems an outstanding choice, although not inexpensive. The EXK Base model starts at $500; the EXK Plus at $650. The CFL model would be even more. But they appear to be of first-rate construction, design, and action, with many options for customization. I'm looking forward to getting one in a few months.
