I've been wanting to get a heavy duty Bowie Knife made out of 5160 steel with a 9 or 10 blade to use as a camp knife and would like suggestions from some serious knife nerds as to what maker to go with. Do not want anything fancy as it will get used (but not abused) very much. I would also like to keep it under $700. Suggestions appreciated.

I would check out peter Kholer from dark timber knives. His stuff is crazy good. All hand forged. I have recently bought two and three on order.
He's on fb not sure if he has a website. He's relatively new but his orders went through the roof. Check videos on YouTube

Your best bet is to check the Exchange - Fixed Blades for Sale by Maker section. They come up all the time.

There is a big bowie / camp blade available there right now by J-siah / Gravelle knives that fits your description to a T. Considerably cheaper than $700 too... ;)

Its in 3V but many consider that the best choice for hard use knives.
