looking for a good folder

You're getting quite a list to check - I'll add one. I'm really enjoying the heck out of this US made Spyderco Native I got for Christmas. It's solid, comfortable and sharp as heck...

I personally like the Skyline, I have modified it a bit to make it perfect, (added jimping, changed pocket clip, and put pillars in place of back spacer) but the basic knife ergonomics and size (good blade length, not too wide when closed, and light weight) make it hard to beat. The steel is good, not the best as it requires a little more sharpening than s30v but it does get extremely sharp easily. You also cannot go wrong with any Spyderco, but check out the Persistence, I bet the Tenacious will be bigger than you want. I also just got a Sage II from Spyderco and love this knife. It is pricey, but worth it.

I'm trying to find out what is a good folding knife no less than a 3 inch blade and straight edge. This maybe the wrong place to ask this but I feel you guys really now you stuff. Thanks

under 3 or over 3?

no less than == olde speake for "not under 3 and preferably longer"

hogue?

fallekniven makes a WICKED folder if you want smaller

many others.

how exotic? how much? $15 to $150 or even $1500 :)

I would like a 4 inch blade. no serration and not looking for anything too exotic only looking to spend roughly 40 buck. thank you everyone for the list so far. I have a lot to look at. right now I have some china made buck 110 look alike that I want to replace.

That's basically the same requirement my brother-in-law had and I picked him up a Ka-Bar Bobcat folder and he loves it. It's incredibly solid, like the Buck 110, but I liked the grip a lot better.

I really like the bobcat thanks for the suggestion

I would recommend any of these 3 knives. Sorry for the dark picture...

Buck Vantage -- mine is the Pro with s30v steel
Kershaw Leek
Kabar Phat Bob

Well there are alot of options,
I just bought a Leatherman e33L, Spyderco Resiliance and the CS Pocket Bushman.
The e33L has 154cm blade steel, and it is less then 30 dollars,
now thats good value.
One of my friends has a Tenacious, and it makes a pretty good EDC,
but I think the Persistance is a better choice for EDC options.

I am still deciding weather or not to buy a Buck Vantage Avid Small or a Kershaw Skyline.
Or just save it for the tweeners??
Both are good thin lightweight folders.

Also the Spyderco Delica 4 and Endura 4 are both great EDC blades,
VG-10 and very lightweight. (nice color options too)

I love my Case sodbuster, I carried a skyline for a while but was less than impressed. For roughly the same price the sodbuster is a far better knife.

Hell yeah! The Case Soddie is a great woods folder. Looks good next to a Becker to boot!
