I have been Using a Princeton Tech EOS for about three years and it is really great, it has plenty of light to navigate and a dimmer setting for camp chores and map reading. I will tell you that the lenses can melt if you get your face too close to the flames while fire building, the light still works fine just the focus is a little off. also the 3 AAA batteries will run for at least two or three days of pretty constant use and probably more if you are conservative.

Petzl e+LITE Headlamp

It works great has a bunch of features and under $40

I have never been happier with a headlamp. I like the E+lite. it's light weight and durable.
