Looking for a good small knife

Spyderco ladybug. Salt version is nice with the non-rusting H1 steel.

After looking through that list of small knives and going through the thread and searching around, I found this little gem http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/787393-AG-Russell-3-0-Ti-lockback

I've read nothing but good about it and it looks perfect, perfect price too ($41.95). Sure looks nice. I think thats what I'm gonna get him.

Thanks for all the help guys! I have a million tabs open on the browser searching up all the knives you listed. Hard to pass up a bunch but I have to put myself in his shoes with his needs. Thanks guys!

I have a few AG Russell 2.5 Titanium Lockbacks and a Titanium Ultimate pen knife. I have eyed but never puled the trigger on the Titanium 3.0 but tried to get the Carbon Fiber 3.0 but it was sold out and DQd.
Just saw AG is releasing a 3.5 version now.
Now I need two more knives!

Some great suggestions so far. Another awesome knife is the Cold Steel Mini Lawman. The ergos on this knife are sweet and the triad lock is one of the strongest locks out there.

CRKT Ripple, its small and light but still has a decent blade length. It is also a flipper but it isnt spring assisted but the blade will open with a finger flick only and does not require any wrist action. it uses a ball bearing system to reduce friction. its a great "gentleman's folder"
they make a couple stainless handle versions with a frame lock or an aluminium handle version with a liner lock.
the aluminium version (which is the one i have) comes in two sizes
3.125" blade 2.5ounces & a smaller version with a 2.7" blade that weighs 1.8 ounces.
both sizes have a 8CR14MoV blade.

the stainless versions use a Acuto 440 steel in the blade and weigh about 3 ounces

out of all my knives the CRKT ripple and the CRKT shenanigan are my favorite. if you want something larger then the ripple the shenanigan is amazing, i got a brand new one off ebay for $16 shipped! it is also a flipper that isnt spring assisted but it also opens very smoothly without any wrist action (which is important to me) it comes in a aluminum and synthetic handle. the blade is AUS8

out of the two i like the shenanigan more due to its larger size but i think the ripple will fit your needs better, but both can be bought for less then $50

$50 firm? I just bought a ton of cheap knives with one exception, Benchmade Mini Grip 556 $75. Def worth the money and I would recommend (nice gift too), sweet size for EDC.

How about a Buck Lux? Good small folding liner lock, depending upon the trim options you can get the blade in 420HC, 13C26 Sandvik, or even S30V.
