looking for a good "Tactical Folder" in the $40-$80.00 range

I'll put in a vote for the Cold Steel AK-47. It's the only waved knife I have, and while I'm not likely to ever have to rely on that feature, I have to admit that it does work well. I have the current model with the aluminum pommel(glass breaker/skull crusher--whatever you want to call it) and Tri-Ad lock. You can find them for around $70.

I DONT plan to ever use it except for SD.

Perhaps you ought to take a look at the Cold Steel Ti-Lite series. It's available in a 4" or 6" AUS 8A blade with Zytel or aluminum handles. I don't own one of these but it looks very... um... pointy! And a six-inch blade is a lot of reach *especially* for a folder...

(edit: there are also VG-1 steel versions and titanium handles)

I would also suggest the Ti-lite series.

if you can get a hold of one the kershaw lahar is a great value

Seriously ? Come on guys he needs a Tactical folder. Do you self a favor and get a cold steel voyager xl. Now that is what I call a tactical blade. Plus it will impress your friends and not break your bank.
