That post by willis is a lot more concerning than grinder monkey is.
 
The reference to "Barry Soetoro" being an organ grinder monkey is the issue... at least thats the issue i had with the post.

I don't even have one yet but it will be my first. Shoot, I don't even have the right equipment or time right now. I am always gone. Being a trucker sucks sometimes. :-(
 
It's something that I would love to try though. I have never done anything like that before and when I see all the pictures of the ones you folks do it just gets me going you know?
 
Yeah, I hear ya, that can be tough. Well if your ever in Austin,TX I have a file you can borrow. :)
 
Even then sometimes it does. I am an owner operator and some weeks just flat out blow. I have been doing trucking for twenty years now and I tell you it's just not as fun as it used to be.
 
Ron, do you have any power tools at home?
a cheap belt sander (4x36 or 1x30) and a bucket of water will let you do what you want to do in a relatively short period of time.
if you have steady hands, get a cordless dremel and do the mod while waiting on loads -- use one of the cheap inverters you can plug into a 12v power point to recharge the battery while driving. (yes, you will go through a LOT of sanding drums, but they're fairly cheap)
