Looking for a hard use folder

Adams great warrantee. D2 great hard use steel, coated to prevent rust. Built like a tank. USA manufactured used by our combat troops. Deployes like a rocket.

well seeing as how you already have the 0550 and 0560, which would have been my first recommendations, and that you want to try something other than ZT.. let me ask..

Do you absolutely want a $200+ knife?

- Yes - Then I have to say check out the Spyderco Farid K2 (+/- $220)
- No - Spyderco Manix 2/ Manix 2 XL: Comes in a variety of steels and is a tough knife. Or if you can find a Spyderco Superleaf, those have compression locks and VG-10. Beyond that, I'd have to recommend my personal favorite beater.. the Cold Steel Recon 1. I use it for everything too abusive for my really nice knives and it handles everything well. The AUS8 is easy to sharpen and CS does a nice job with it. Triad locks are super hardcore, and I bought mine for 40 bucks. So if i finally use it up or destroy it somehow.. who cares?

My choices are a Benchmade Adamas BM275BK, Lionsteel SR1 aluminum, ZT 0562, ZT 0620 and finally a DPx Hest 2.0

The Adamas would be good, until the fragile springs break and you have to mail it in because Benchmade won't just mail you the parts to install yourself.

I like the design of the Lionsteel and HEST, but nylon washers are a deal killer on a $200 knife.

Out of the ZTs, the 0620 is very cool and very robust. Get it if you like the Emerson shape and wave, get the others if you want a flipper.

Great info guys the Adamas seems like a good knife but I really like the looks of the Lionsteel Sr-1A. Any body know how the aluminum framelock holds up I know there is a steel lock bar insert.

I just bought a zt 0620 about 20 minutes ago and I am in love. Buy it now , thank me later.

Good suggestions, anyone with the SR-1 can chime in for some input I am gonna narrow my choices to the Adamas and the Sr1, ZTs are great and all but the 0550 and 0560 are good for now. Willing to spend around 200-250

My Friend is a Super of a building. I came over and he said "we're getting new washing machines, so let's break into these to get the quarters out before I sell them for scrap"
He got a dremel out and started on one. Once he made a little groove. I took out my chisel tipped CQC7 and grapped a hammer. "I got this" I said. The flat butt came in handy for hammer strikes.
Hard use? I pounded this thing into a washing machine.

I have both the Gayle Bradley and the TSF Beast, both great knives. If you can swing the cash, try the Beast. Once I've sold all the knives in my for sale thread, I'm gonna pick up a Southern Grind Bad Monkey.

i had the choice between the SR1 and the ZT 550. I liked the zt 550bw-so cool. I choose the SR1 blake on black. Here's why: I love the ZT 550 bw and really wanted to experiment with the S35VN steel. I'm a retired cop and still a scoutmaster. I am a merit badge coucelor for about 18 merit badges. I teach wilderness survial merit badge school. Ultimately, I choose the Lionsteel over the ZT for a few reasons.
1) I have a few ZT's already and wanted to try somethinng new.
2) I have seen a lot of the hard use video's with the SR-1
3)The SR1 was thinner and lighter
4) They won the 2010 and 2014 awards for innovation from Blade and a few other notible organizations. The fit and finish is really sexy. It just was so cool. Everybody has a ZT. I have never seen anyone pull out a Lionsteel.
5) The stainless steel liner lock cap, that everybody does now, was their innovation. The roto block is a cool innovation. In truth, I never use a blade the hard. It's more a piece of mind. Just lock the blade in.
6) Even though the SR1 is tough, it is definately a "she". The ZT 550 BW was on the counter next to the SR1. You can't go wrong. I sometimes carry IWB. The SR1 with the black clip disappears with my dark slacks or blue jeans.
7) She is unique and sexy. Good luck, it's a agonizing decision but in reality, you cannot choose incorrectly.

Hahaha two in the chest one in the head dragonram7

Yeah the SR1 is a nice looking blade, the ZTs are a beast of a thing. Too many choices, the CQC7 sounds like a beast of a folder. And the Bad monkey looks like a tank of a blade.
In my opinion the ZT 0550 trumps the 0560 in hard use even though the 0560 is a tough folder.

Just looking for an all around folder that doesn't mind being thrashed hard.

If considering the Lionsteel SR1, the OP is ok with a larger blade. Why not leapfrog the ZT 0562 and go for the 0561. They cost less than $200 now, so probably a better deal than the 0562 as well:
