Looking for a Junior Stockman type 3 blade folder

Remember when wally world had the Buck cadet in a pearl looking handle?

Of course I delayed getting one and now kick myself gently.

Yea,, you are right about that fellows!. I am sorry to say those days are gone though. I silently wept:( when Buck went the way of the Chinese.. And to make matters worse they are now coming out with lovely offerings in red bone, stag and the like. But I cannot bring myself to purchase there new stuff because it is not built here.. I guess that makes me at stubborn old bastid.

Don't get me started on the Chinese stuff. Part of me realizes that American made traditional knives at working man's prices will soon be a thing of the past. It is hard to keep up the good fight sometimes, and good to be stubborn.

I thought the cadet and stockman, as well as the traditional line like the 110's and such were still made here in the U.S.A.?

Buck is still making the black sythetic handle 303 and the 301 in the USA, but Buck also makes the same patterns with wood handles as the 373 and 371 in China, at a lower cost. Last year, several new additions were made to the Buck lineup of traditional type slipjoints, all from China. The current Buck slipjoints with red bone handles on offer for the holidays at Walmart are made in China.

I hear what you are saying about the China Buck's. The "Buck" stops with us. If we don't buy them, they will not keep supplying them. Just my opinion.

It think a Case small stockman would be the ticket.

I prefer stainless on knives that small. You gain nothing with CV steel in a knife that size. If a man needs a "real knife" a baby stockman is not the right choice.

Saw on the SMKW website that they are offering red bone Buck 373's, made in China. A sign of the times...
