Looking for a knife maker in Waco, TX

Turbo , I just saw your post. I live in Woodway ( Waco Sub) and am kind of new to this to. But I have been to a couple of hammer ins and have built two KMG grinders, a forge. and I am working on a rolling mill. I have rather small kiln to heat treat in. I have also designed a simple grinding fixture that will take light years off of learning to grind straight even lines.
I'm in the middle of remodeling my house right now, but when it is completed and it cools off some I had been kicking around the Idea of having a very basic, but hands on weekend class.

Give me a call if anyone is interested 254-744-6781

Turbodog has made contact and were working out a time and date. This mini hammer in is directed to new or want to be knife makers but anyone is welcome. This will be a hands on class and you should go home with a mostly finished knife. The cost will be only for materials and supplies. If you want to come and only observe that's ok to.
As I only have two grinders class size will be limited.

Jim

Oh boy, great idea, Jim! Obviously, count me in on that class. In the mean time, I look forward to meeting you sometime this week!

If you're ever out toward Abilene, give me a holler. There are quite a few in the DFW area also.
I live in Winters Tx and was wondering if you would be willing to teach me how to make knifes. I have always loved knifes and what it takes to make them. I'm not afraid of hard work my wife would like to learn to.

I moved to Lubbock in October 2017. That said, the Texas Knifemakers' Guild will have 10 or 12 guys plus a handle material supplier at the Silver Spur gun show in Abilene next weekend, Feb 24/25. Be a good way for you to meet some of the local guys.
