Looking For a Knife Under $120

Manix2 for sure.

Excellent ergos , great build quality , wonderful blade and awesome ball bearing lock.

Just an outstanding knife. That's why there are so many variations of the Manix2.

If you already have a ZT and a Spyderco, I'd say get a Benchmade. I resisted the Griptilian, because it just didn't feel like a hundred dollar knife. After getting a North Fork and a HK Axis (too bad that one's discontinued), I bought a Ritter Grip before it disappeared too. It's a little light and plasticky, but what a great knife. Slick opening and closing, feels good in hand and cuts!
Try an Axis lock.

I prefer a 3.5"-4" blade as well. However, I was going to suggest a BM mini Griptilian as I prefer it to the large. And I would reccomend a Ritter version.

But I wanted to see if any were still available as I've heard they had been discontinued..

Cost me $139

Doug Ritter RSK MK1 Stone Washed M390 Blade.

$20 over your budget, but well worth it, one of the best Griptillians out there, in one of the best steels out there. Lots of after market scales..

Not sure how long they will last...all I can say is that there is one less to be had.

I gotta stop these midnight reads...costing me a small fortune.

The new benchmade bugout seems really nice. I have two benchmade knives and they really have a great heat treat. Benchmade is the only brand that i have not had an edge roll on yet. The spyderco manix is a very tough knife but it sits very wide in the pocket. But if toughness is the number one concern, i would go manix. If edc and pocket friendly are more important i would got benchmade bugout, or maybe the new benchmade freek. all three knives are in s30v

Everyone is suggesting the mini grip but I heard the Grip is breaker of chains and destroyer of pockets. Being that the scales are so rough?

If you like FRN for a handle material then you can get a Manix2 w/s110v blade and dark blue FRN handle for $117 brand new.

I agree with others, in that you already have a Spydie and a ZT, find yourself a Benchmade you like, even if a bit over your price range, drop a couple extra $ if needed with a $120 "coupon", to have one of each of the 3 premier US made production companies.

Like others have suggested try a Benchmade, 940-1 would be my choice.

You could also look at the Boker Exskelibur 1

Who in the world told you that?! The scales on a Grip do not destroy pockets, at all
I guess just everyone I watch on YouTube. They all complain about the FRN scales being so rough and the clips having such tight tentsion that over time it will destroy your pocket much quicker than anything else. I personally have never been interested in said knife therefore I am not talking from experience, only giving the OP a fair warning as to what to expect “possibly”.

From experience I can tell you you will have no concerns. Now get an Emerson with G10 like sandpaper then you will notice a difference.

As have been suggested, you may want to consider:

- A Manix 2, any configuration should be fine, or
- A Delica zdp-189, or
- A Benchmade griptilian, or
- A ZT0909 (slightly over your budget)

The clip can sometimes come too tight, yes, but I've literally had clips come too tight from every manufacturer. The clip tension is an easy fix. The Grip handles are not rough at all.

I’d go with a C.S. Triad. A recon 1 serves as a beater that begs to eat dog shit. Fancier pocket jewelry in the back pocket.

Manix 2 is my favorite folder. I handled the XL version, and its quite heavy in pocket. I didn't like it much. I like spydercos and prefer the manix over the pm2. My next folder will hopefully be another manix 2 (LW this time) or a full sized Grip.
