Looking for a large folder (3.75"-5.0" blade) for $100-$200. Prefer a flipper!

As the title says, I'd like some ideas for my next purchase. Currently the largest folder I have is a Zero Tolerance 0302. I've been debating a Leatherman Charge TTI, Spyderco Military, Manix 2, or full size Benchmade Skirmish (too pricey for what it is IMO though). I'd like some recommendations.

Manual flipper. ZT 200.

Although it's not really a flipper, you will be hard pressed to find a better folder in that price range than the 4" Hogue EX01... I have one with the black G-Mascus handle and it has quickly become my favorite carry.

/jr.

Zt 0200 is nice, but if you already have the 0300, then you probably don't need the 0200. I would actually point you toward the 0400. you can pick them up for 100 NIB from kershawguy, and they are a really nice knife. S30V tanto blade, nice handle, and it opens like a blur with a flipper.

If you don't already have one, a spec bump is a must. 145 NIB from kershawguy. they are absolutely one of the best knives i have. i wear one every day. It has a great handle, awesome blade shape, good steel, good length, and they are disappearing. they are discontinued, so this might be the last of them. get one. they are awesome

A Kershaw Junkyard Dog with the Composite Blade would fit the bill. Also another hurah for the ZT0200.

meyerco catch dog is available for less than $30. its pretty beefy.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. The 0200 was in the mix but since I have a 302 I'd like to stay away from ZT (until the 0560 comes out).

Hogue EX01 is a cool looking knife, but my first impression didn't have that wow factor. Definitely a potential contender.

I love Kershaw by the spec bump lock and blade shape aren't really for me. As for the Junkyard dog, I do like it a lot. Every time I search the JYD2 seems to come up. I also could have sworn I've seen a JYD that was a titanium framelock. Is that correct? If so where do they sell them? Kershaw guy does not ship to Canada so I'd need another option.

I think I've concluded that a titanium framelpck flipper would he my first choice if affordable. Budget can't be over $200 right now though.

I don't really know of anyone who has the titanium framelock JYD, except for Kershaw Guy. The ones he has/had are factory blems, so the cost is not as high. The blem is usually just a cosmetic thing, and some folks say that they never detact the flaw that made it a blem!

The JYD CB has some very thick liners that are reminiscent of a framelock folder.

Btw, these can be had for under $100!

Combative Edge M1 - I'm a big fan. Thin, easy to carry, 3.75" blade in a N690 that takes a super edge. It has a pseudo flipper (requires a flick of the wrist but is smooth). Also in your price range.

I gotta go with Gunsnknives on this one. Since you didn't want a 0200, take a good look at the Combative Edge M1. It is a very nice titanium framelock with a flipper.

If someone could teach me how to post pics like Bladebertt...that would be great!

Back on topic, my M1 reco still stands...Plus, there aren't many out there! I like my first (serial no. under 200) so much, I got a second (serial no. just over 200).

I sent you an email about the new ZT 0560/61 and the Ti Tyrade nib if you know where to look.

Wait For The New 560/61. It Will Be Worth Waiting For:):D

It depends on your use. If you want a slicer there is nothing better the a Spyderco military. It's materials and fit n finish quality is oustanding. If you dont get it now you will probably get one in the future. I suggest you buy it.

@ clockman, thanks for the email! The Ty is an awesome looking blade. Unfortunately kershawguy doesn't ship to Canada. Anywhere else I can find one? I'll definately be picking up a 560 and 561 when they come out.

I would go with the Combative Edge M1 or SR11. Both are great folders.
