..Phillip Patton Damascus scalpel.

I don't currently have the funds to commission something custom (Unless I can get there for under 30.00)

I've seen a couple pen cases that might fit the bill, but want to fully explore my options before pulling the trigger.

Any leads?

Thank you for your consideration.

If it's a traditional folder or at least in the same size then you can get a slip from collectorknives.com
I had a look at them, but I fear that anything larger enough for fit the thickness of a folder is going to be too loose on something this thin. Shame, those things look niiice.

I'm looking for the same thing at the moment for a different knife and I've come across a lot of things on etsy's website. I've found a lot of nice leather items on there from different makers.

Not knowing leather makers here, based on the prices I see on etsy I would think you could get something custom made for about your price. I think a slip is little more than a folder over piece of leather that's stitched together at the most basic level. The more contoured ones with cutouts sure look nicer.

Is it okay to mention etsy? I know posting about non-supporting knife stores isn't allowed but is etsy a disservice to the paid maker's on the forum? I guess I assumed it was just another place to find makers that could already be here when I stumbled upon it looking for axe sheaths.

I picked up a few of the CK slips and they're pretty nice. They lay quite flat so you might be able to find something. I had to work them open with the my trappers to get them so they would come out without pulling the whole slip from my pocket with it (mostly the clip slip which I'm a solid fan of now). You could always call the guy up and ask. The goatskin slip is pretty tall and soft but roomy and doesn't hold the knives nearly as well as the Tuscany leather models.

I don't know jack about Phillip Patton knives but you say scalpel and I think long and skinny.

Tell me, would a nice leather fountain pen slip case work? Maybe something made for a Waterman or Mont Blanc?

EDIT: Now that I look closer at your OP, I can see that you had already thought of the pen idea. Sorry.

And I was quite pleased with myself about the idea too. Bummer.

Phillip's scalpels are something like 6 inches long and thin. I have many of CKs pocket sheaths and don't really think any will fully meet your needs. Their goat skin is very nice, but not for your scalpel, as the blade would probably cut through the leather. Their smallest Tuscany pocket slip would most like fit the blade portion of the scalpel securely, but would only cover the blade. The handle would be exposed. Their larger slips would be far too wide (IMO) and still not contain the entire handle of the scalpel. Pretty sure you are going to have to go the trial and error route, unless you can find someone to make one to fit.
