Evening everyone,

I didn't really want to make a post for this but I'm overwhelmed and at a loss with what to do. Im looking for a leather sheath for my Busse DTBM and i don't know how to go about getting one. I know there are custom makers but there are so many so I don't know who to go with. Can anyone direct me in the right direction and how to go about getting a sheath.

Any help is appreciated!

Search would help, get you plenty of pictures of completed works, etc.

Condo's leather made my favorite Sheath, and Patriot Leather made some great pants for my Battle Saw. Can't speak of any others from experience, looks like Chuddy Bear has gone on hiatus, as I haven't been able to contact him. Armor all leather is another maker I haven't tried yet, and I'm sure I'm missing a dozen others who make good Sheaths.

Hope that helps

Thanks, and yeah I was going to go with chuddy bear but I too had heard is no where to be found. If you don't mind me asking, how long did you wait for your sheaths?

Condo was less than 7 days. Patriot was different. As it was part of a group ordered before the knives were produced. But something like 3 weeks or so after he started making them.

A gentleman by the name of Dwayne Puckett. Find him, and you will find kickass leather. That is all.

(Leatherman has his own spot here on bladeforums)

I just had one made by Savage Made Sheaths. I was very happy with the quality and quick turnaround time.

For the best fit and finish go with Chuddy Bear, the quality is outstanding. My last sheath done by him was a BATAC pouch and it took 4 months to get to me.

There are alot of great leather makers out here,
Some have longer turn around time than others, some have most Busse models on hand, id have to say my Favorite sheath so far was made by Chucky Condos at Condos leather. Great work in a timely manner.

I have a Condos TG sheath.....very pleased and he is quick to get it to you. All the others mentioned are great as well.

Chuddybear is definitely worth the wait. Awesome custom work (mine took @ 4 months). I would just keep trying to contact him - might be on vacation or just over worked at his day job. My Patriot Leather took about 3 weeks, but that was right before (during) his transition to the new name/operation, so your mileage may vary. He might have stuff in stock. It too is good quality workmanship and comes in several different configurations.

Some great sheath makers already mentioned above. I have leatherman and Chuddy bear both awesome, also PirtleMade leather he also makes a really nice sheath, have a couple of them too :-)
He also has that knife in stock :-)

Condo's made this one for my Boss Jack and it only took a couple weeks.

+1 for Pirtlemade. Chad does an outstanding job, and is a pleasure to work with.

i posted on this forum and sheath makers found me i haven't got one yet because i weary about sending my knife to a stranger.Plus the renaissance fair is going on now in NY tuxedo im going up there this weekend to see if the leather people there can make me up sheath's.

It seems to me that a leather worker at a Fair is a stranger to you. The leather sheath makers here are respected members and fellow knife lovers with a reputation to uphold.

Another thumbs up for Chad Pirtle. And it's true - most of the guys mentioned here probably already have your model - so no worries about sending your knife back and forth.

And I'd second what Resinguy sez up above ^^^

I'd hazzard a guess that the afformentioned leather smiths would do a better job than a guy at the fair. But YMMV
