Looking for a lightweight edc?

SK Blades "Smoke Jumper" Buck 110LT.
Red FRN handle
CPM-154 Blade
3.4 Ounces
Under $40.
Comes with a cool red trimmed black nylon belt sheath.

There's a rust inhibitor called edci that's suppose to be really good. Otherwise mineral oil can help.

I have not handled a Bugout so I can't speak to that knife ... but the Manix and the Native 5 have gotten alot of use through the years.

My wife has a Bugout and she absolutely loves hers. She says she can't even feel it when clipped in the waistband when running.

My vote is for the Native! If you have a problem with humidity and corrosion, I'd think a bit about omega springs.

Another vote for the Bugout. I forget it's there even clipped on basketball shorts. Great ergo's, blade is thin and slicey.

Whatever knife you choose, I'd recommend also getting a small boxcutter for some of your work activities. The cardboard & glue can dull your knife fairly quickly.

If you can forgo the clip, the Lion Steel Roundheads, Shufflers, and Dom's sound perfect for your needs. I know the Roundheads and Shufflers are coming towards the end of this month, not sure if every Dom is sold out yet, though.

Since I've gotten my Dom it's been the only knife I've carried(it's still relatively new, but I know that's not the only reason). Insanely light because of the titanium bolsters and liners, and you get M390! For $20 over your budget that's a helluva deal, but again, it's a non-locking, no clip knife.

As long as you're not doing anything extreme, I use my traditionals the same I do my Manix. Cardboard, food, rope/twine/wires, and they haven't failed me once.

I’m in the bugout camp, loved mine since I got it last fall. If it were something I was going to do much work with though I’d probably be inclined to look at something more substantial. I find 4-5” fixed blades to be a lot more useful for heavy use, more comfortable to hold, too. You can go through a bunch of Moras for $100.

I usually carry a Manix LW of some flavor when wearing shorts.

It stretches OP's budget by $20, but this is a great knife that is nice and light in the pocket but will handle whatever beating you want to throw at it. I got one of these for father's day this year from my wife and kids. I already had a black coated CTS-BD1 version and liked it a bunch, so the orange + S90V version was a welcome addition.
