Hello,

I am looking for a new knife but I don't succeed in finding the one that match my "dream specs".... :(
I will apreciate a lot if you can share some advices with me!

I am looking for a manual liner lock folder that is a good slicer and that is unobstrusive in the pocket.
I like black blades, drop points and deep carry clips.

For you knife geek-experts here are my specs...

MUST HAVE-
Main use: Urban EDC and food prep
Opening mechanism: manual (thumb stud, spyder hole...)
Locking mechanism: Liner lock
Blade length: from 2.9" to 3.25"
Blade thickness: =<0.10"
Blade steel: 154CM or better
Blade shape: no tanto
Clip: Deep carry
Brand: no cold steel

NICE TO HAVE-
Blade finish: Black DLC coating or stonewash
grind: Hollow
Made in: US
Price range: less than 200$

Blades I have considered:
The Sage 1 is nice, but I will have prefered a sleeker blade shape.
the Nitrous looks good to me but I am not so attracted by the assist...
Spyderco Stretch has a blade shape I like but the blade is too thick

Blades I allready have:
ZT0801BW, ZT0562CF, ZT0550 (gen3), ZT0350M390
Kershaw CQC-4K BW
BM943BK, BM940-1, BM Doug Ritter mini griptilian (stonewash)
Spyderco Paramilitary 2 (black S30V)
CR Sebenza small insingo (micarta inlays)
Extrema ratio BF1CT (black tanto)

That's quite of a list :)
I hope this can be fun for you to think about this.

Some online knife dealers allow you to search by a wide variety of descriptions: size, locking mechanism, blade material and shape, etc. For example: Blade HQ and Arizona. It's almost fun

HAve you considered either the Emerson CQC 7 or the mini version? Or, the hard to find Mini A100 which Emerson just had a limited run of?

… And the Kizer Gemini Vanguard. Also, I came across a front flipper, liner lock in N690 by Fanie Lombard on Arizona that I've been considering. It has no clip but I was going to use it with a pocket sheath. I prefer liner locks over other locking mechanisms so this list is also for myself. Oh, and the Fantoni HB 02-I forget how much it is but I believe it's around $200

Spyderco Gayle Bradley 2...is my favorite linerlock.

Not sure if it meets all your requirements.

Does not met all your criteria, but the Rat1 is a great folder for the price and fulfills some of your requirements, such as full flat ground, linner lock, thin blade (excelent slicer) and stainless (however AUS8 I guess is below your required 154CM or better). Regarding the deep carry clip, I bet you can tweak an aftermarket one to suit this knife.

The Spydie Gayle Bradley is a fav of mine that meets most of your criteria; it's the middle one in this pic with modded scales I made.

The Spyderco stretch probably has the thinnest stock of any of the knives you listed, but it's a back lock.

Spyderco positron? It's a manual flipped though.

Give McCusta a look

Hi. I second this.

A Mcusta Bushi Sword ticks almost all the boxes… and you seem to miss one Mcusta in your line-up. Great knife , I have it in purple.

Spyderco Tenacious seems to be the obvious choice..... though a bit redundant since you already have a PM2

Going with a liner lock and a blade thickness of 0.10" or less restricts you quite a bit.

Spyderco Memory by Frank Centofante is a liner lock with a 3.02" blade that's just 0.091" thick. It has a nice slim profile.

Not a liner lock, but I highly recommend a Native 5 LW and/or Delica 4/Endura 4. These knives have made it to the top of my EDC rotation... Knocking out knives costing 10x the price. In all honesty I would say that the Native 5 LW is one of the best designed knives I've ever had... and I have to give it a leg up because it is made in my country and state. ...but the Endura is frikkin excellent and the Delica is likely the best overall EDC ever made, price being part of he criteria.
