The one that is easy to use, easy to maintain, able to produce a "good enough" result and not too expensive. Which one you recommend? (Available on-line?)
Personalizer or Personalizer Plus available from www.knifeandgun.com I have the Personalizer and it works well for me. They cost about $100. Also check the archives, I think someone told how to make one out of an automotive battery charger a year or so back.

Go to search and type in etching machine, look under the thread posted by B. Buxton. Look thru the posts until you find where I retyped Frank Niro's instruction on how to make a etching machine. I made one, ordered stencils and a bottle of electrolite(for high carbon steel)from marking methods Inc. in Alhambra,Ca. And it works real good. I only had to pay for the stencil & electrolite & a 6volt
flashlite battery total cost was about $50. I'll try to post a picture of one of my knives with my new etched signature here today so you can see how it works.

One thing I found after I bought my machine is that I have two train packs. The kind for the HO scale trains. They both have a reastat controlled DC output and a constant AC output I dont see why they wouldn't work unless there isn't enough ampereage. Anyone tried it?
