I am looking for a mid size blade 3" - 5"
It will be my camping/backpacking knife. I currently have a Becker BK-9 ( it's now an 8.5" blade )that I customized and an Esee Izula II.
I have a couple in mind but to had to choose. My price range is no greater then $125
The sheath doesn't have to be great because I make my own kydex.
I consideration:
Esee Laser Strike ( I already owned the Esee 4 but traded it for the Esee Izula II )
Ontario TAK 1
Ontario RAT 5
Kershaw Diskin
Boker Vox Rold
Boker Vox Bob

Throw some suggestions and info my way.
Thanks a lot bros.

Becker BK2 is a great option. I know there are loads of good ones in the ontario spec-plus line and the ranger series.

I have had a Becker BK-2 in my possession once to make a kydex sheath for a guy but I am not to sure about it. I do like the handle ergos though.
Thanks for the input Bigghoss !!

I would say the becker bk16(can't remember size off the top if my head), it's great and you can get 2 for the price you're talking :)

That BK-16 does look pretty sweet. I like the FFG on it as well.
Thanks for the input

the tweeners are nice, but Im way into my Ontario RAT 3, very light and easy to handle...the handles a bit short for me, but Ive got big hands apparently. Flat, fits in a front pocket easily and is good old 1095 steel...whats not to like?

I am not really considering the BK-2. It just doesn't appeal to me. It could be the weight. I already have a blade for chopping and heay duty use so something that caters to bushcraft type of stuff is better.
Here is my BK-9 I customized.

Use either a BK2 or a Falkniven A1.

Yeah I hear you on the Esee blades. I did have an Esee 4 but I traded it because I got tired of the green blade and orange handle. If I had it in a different color combo I would have kept it.

Oh, man, you need to bring some pics of that over to the BKT forum, they need to see that Wharny.

I only want to spend no more then $125 on this blade. Under $100 would be great. I am really considering the BK16.
