I'd go with a Cold Steel Recon 1 or Cold Steel Voyager for a camp folder suited to the other tasks you mentioned. Sure, other knives are probably almost as good, but Cold Steel has that just-in-case-disaster-strikes air of invincibility that makes me happy when carrying them, particularly when out and about.

Another vote for Cold Steel Recon in S35VN. Or Rat1 in D2 steel if you want to stay under $50
