Looking for a new cheaper EDC

I second the Link in 20cv. Swings way above its weight, its inexpensive off the bay and is lightning fast and well just a very decently made USA knife. stay safe

I say carry what you love. I personally wont buy a knife i wont carry. If you're looking for a new knife just to have then I recommend the Hogue Ritter RSK. Hands down the best bang for buck I've found.

Others I recommend would be the Spyderco Para 3 and Bugout.

Look on Amazon for a new Chinese knife company called "Youglatt". Mine's a flipper linerlock, G10 scales, ball bearing pivot, and D2 steel for around $25. The action is really nice, totally unexpected for a knife in this price range; the main downsides are that the flipper isn't serrated, and they've chamfered the thumb opener slot/hole and it doesn't grab the meat of the thumb as well as one with sharp edges. All that said, it's a lot of knife for beater prices.

I recommend skepticism and reluctance on new Chinese brands until we can get some confirmation on the steel or they get picked up by reputable dealers. Now, I say that as one of this forum's leading advocates of brands like WE, Kizer, Bestech, Petrified Fish, etc. There are lots of honest companies offering quality knives from China. The problem is that there are also lots of companies that aren't.

A big problem that we see a lot with new brands in this price range on Amazon or AliExpress are words like "D2" stamped on pieces of 8Cr13Mov or worse. For instance, several of the Eafengrow knives stamped "D2" were tested via XRF and seem to be 5Cr15. 😮

Entirely possible with the Youglatt, the steel did feel a bit on the soft side for D2 when I was sharpening it. I was sure to add that part when I reviewed the knife on Amazon.
