Alright so im trying to find a fixed blade anywhere under 8 inches OAL for edc. I've got an Izula which is just too thick, I love it for small outdoor tasks but not as much for edc. I have an esse 3 but that is just a little too big for me to comfortably carry.. (I have the Becker bk14 and 11 but sane reason I don't carry them as the izula + they are constantly rusting )

I'm looking at the spyderco street beat, spyderco mule team, or a bark River bravo. I'd like to stay around 150 and this would be used for urban edc, food prep, general cutting tasks, and last resort self defence but hopefully I'm never in that situation

Opinions?

I highly suggest looking at the white river knives caper and backpacker models.
I have one and th quality is wonderful, very comfortable and light weight, also S30V so no rust and a nice sheath.

Street Beat should fill the bill nicely. I have had both the regular and the lightweight and either one would do what you want just fine. Since you appear to like Spyderco, you may want to check out the Bill Moran series of fixed blades. Lastly, Bradford Knives also makes the Guardian in the same size range as the Street Beat, but it is more pricey. Lots of people like them a lot, but I have no experience with them.

I'll also recommend the Bradford Guardian 3. You have quite a few options in blade finish, grind, blade material, handle scales, and sheaths. If you want to go another $50 I'd recommend a Dozier Personal Utility or Arkansas Traveler (if you like spear points). I carry a small FB almost daily and both the Bradford and the Dozier work very well at 10:00 or so for RH crossdraw access.

The Fallkniven WM-1 is a nice one also. Very handy knife in a small package.

I recommend the Fiddleback Forge Production Kephart.
I couldn't be happier!

I use a BHK Maverick Scout or a Bark River Little Caper for EDC and they are good solid tools. Both well under your $150 ceiling.

Thanks to all who replied !!!

I think I'm going to go with the street beat.. the polished micarta and deep choil is just drawing me in.. anywhere I could get one for less than 167 ?
