Recommendation? Looking for a new knife

Go for 0562 :)

Looking for a knife that looks unique without looking crazy. I also like a knife that I can use hard without worrying about it breaking. The problem is that I keep finding knives that are too outlandish or too utilitarian

Eh, whatever floats your boat!

Have you looked into the big SAK's with locking blades? I have a rescue tool in bright yellow, and it seems no one seems to notice it or maybe they've just given me up for just being "that guy".

I have a lot of ZTs, Spydies and a few BMs. It sounds like you are looking for a solid user. I have to say that the Hinderer XM-18 3.5 is just right. I would love to get my hands on an MP-1, but until then the XM-18 is probably my favorite. I love the ZT 0900 Les George, as well. I don't really EDC my customs, so hard to give ideas there. Oh, the Kizer Intrepid. I just pulled that out today and it is amazing. All these are in that same medium size range. That is my preference in general. For autos, some of my favorites are the ultratech, utx-85 and utx-70. I love every single protech I have. My two all time favorites are the Matt Diskin Revolution and the MD Wheel, but those are custom DA autos that cost a lot. I guess it boils down to how much knife you are willing to EDC.

For the lower price point, the Spydies are unbeatable (PM2, Manix, Native, Sage, etc etc)

For medium I would go Chris Reeve Umnumzaan or Hinderer XM-18.

For the 1k mark, hands down a Rockstead Shin if you plan to use it as an EDC. It is unbeatable.

For a usable auto, id go DA or side opening. If you like small, the MT mini socom elite DA auto is amazing.

Larger, tanto and good price - Protech TR4 or Kershaw Launch 6 or 7 can't remember.

Big, not too expensive - Brian Tighe Fighter auto (not the custom).

Beauty, Functionality and Amazingness at a high price - Diskin Rev or a MT Scarab or Hellhound

Anything by Reate, as well.

OP - go for a Hinderer XM-18 3.5". Pick a grind and g10 color that you prefer. A slightly used one can be had for around $330.

Edit: OL'Sluggy beat me on that.

I'm pretty sure I suggested this knife 3 times today.. But a Manix 2! From there it's all up to you. Maxamet, S110V, CTS XHP, CruWear.. Whatever steel fits your needs the best.

I would say the ZT0562CF or ZT562ORBLK because of the steel that they are using and how comfortable the knife is to carry with that deep carry pocket clip. I got the ZT562ORBLK because I wanted the DLC coating and then just got a different front scale to make it feel more like my knife. I just feel like if you are looking at a first ZT I agree with the ZT562 for your choice.

P.S. you could also look at the ZT0095-S90 which is also a favorite ZT of mine

You need a Protech. Some push button goodness in your life. I like the TR-3, the Newport, and the Whiskers.... oh and all the rest of them too.

I would have to agree with this. There are some amazing Protech knives. I have a Newport and TR-4. Love them both, very well made!

I have close to 150 knives from production to custom, autos and balis and folders. Every size.

If you could narrow down to price point, size and auto/folder I will give u the best advice I can.

With a PM 2, a Grip and a 940, you really have all your "needs covered. " with maybe the exception of a keeshaw leek, my all time favorite, as a small knife. So it's about what u want.

So w some more info I can give u some ideas.

The A2 Collabs are as good as u r gonna get price-value if u don't mind EDCing an 800 dollar knife. The steelcraft todd begg series is impeccable. Protech are amazing. And so on

Man, if you can own an auto in the state which you reside, I say Magic BR-1 for the win!

You have plenty of pocket, how about a fixed blade? Nothing like a big ol piece of steel in your hand. My favorites are scrapyard, or any Busse.
