Looking for a nice BOB/ 3 day pack- sugestions?

You guys are the best! So much knowledge in one place is hard to find :)

I've decided to go with the Falcon II, for the extra pockets and low profile. I figure I can always add a 500 cubic inch rolly-polly to the outside for when I need to haul more gear, but its hard to make a big pack smaller. I'll be sure to do a thorough pics/review when I get mine (figure march 1, since my b day is feb 27)

Thanks again everyone!

I plan to keep the pack dry, in the back of my 4runner, next to 6 1-gallon water bottles, and just fill it up when I need it.
In reality, that would probably work. Its just that I like to plan my BOB so I could "grab and GO!" and not have to do any last minute repacking or adding to my BOB before I take off. I would hate to have to leave something behind because it wasn't safe to take the time to re-pack it, or even just plain forgot in the stress of the moment. Especially something as vital as water.

Maybe if you could somehow fit the bottle in your BOB, or strap them to it? That way if worst came to worst, you could just grab it and run, and then transfer the water into the bladder when you have time?

Just a thought.

My BOB is a camelbak BFm theyre wide spread among us military folk and ive seen bags that have spent over 3 years in iraq and are still servicable.. just my 2 cents
I don't think the issue is the durability of hydration bladders (while I don't put mine to the same heavy use as Iraqi combat troops, I've had some of them for years with no leaks).

The concern I have is that I normally repack my BOB annually, repacing batteries, food and any other parishables. If that water is sitting in the bladder for that long, I would be worried about how sanitary it was. :barf:

Guess i got in too late but for my BOB i prefer T.H.E. Pack by Spec Ops brand if you look on E-bay or such you can get it for under $100. It is made in the USA which is a big deal for me a very tough pack. Very roomy also.
