Yea, thanks coleslaw but its just a bit out of my price range. Biggest thing is the location of our shop and the lay out, we would never be able to get that 1800 pound machine in there..Thanks though, I appreciate it..
Do you need the fast striking of a mechanical hammer?
Have you thought about looking around for something like a KA75(http://www.ka75.com/), which has a very small footprint? Or maybe considered building a forging press instead?
As much as I'm obsessed with getting a hammer myself (self contained), I've realized that, economically, a press is generally a better choice, especially if you have the means of fabricating it yourself, and to some degree, the size of the structure can be tailored to your space, there's not a whole lot you can't do with a press and the right dies.
Anyway, not trying to hijack, I'm just curious what situation a 25# LG would actually be more productive in, especially to justify the difficulty of procurement...

Man, those guys on ebay, so-called "Matchless Antiques" have been in my "saved sellers" list since for a while. I think they made a deal with the devil on our kit. The have seemingly unlimited "matchless" pieces of smithing equipment. Beware, the last LG I saw them sell, went for pretty serious cash.
I have been watching it and have a shipping quote but Im pretty sure that its gonna go beyond my budget..His stuff goes for big bucks..Thanks for taking the time to post this. I appreciate it.
