... with no liners, open back construction, 2.75" to 3.25" stainless blade, and capable of one-handed deployment (Spydy hole, thumb stud, flipper, etc.).

I recently picked up a Case Sodbuster Jr. In CF and I have been very impressed with it. Now I want a lockback with similar attributes (thin/light/strong). I prefer a lockback to the added complexity of an axis or compression lock, and I want all CF construction so a framelock is out.

Any ideas?

Native...

I know you said no liner but does anyone make a carbon fiber scale with no liner?? and with a lockback? Native CF may be your closest.

Just find the knife you like and have carbon fiber scales put on it by one of our many craftsmen.

Open back lock back is a bit of a contradiction in terms. The closest I've seen to something like that was a hypothetical design posted in the Hinderer forum several years ago and, to my knowledge, it was never produced.

Caly 3 (spyderco) comes to mind first, being the very first pocket knife I purchased and love (still have it)

Also the sage and chaparral by spidie Co.

Yup, kinda put my foot in it there. Thanks for the catch. I can live without the open back.

I've had a Sage and a Chaparral. Don't they have steel liners?

I know OP said no liners, but the Caly 3 and 3.5 are extremely thin and just about weightless in the pocket--liners in my 3.5 have huge milling holes in them. Great knives if you like those materials.
