I don't know about calling the Manix a "heavy" weight given that it's easily the lightest of all 3.All 3 are nice knives with new steels.
All of them are strong build and are "heavy" weight.
Hard users.
But the Manix is the best slicer of these 3. It the only one with ffg.
Also good edge retention and good corrosion resistant.
The two things I didn't like about my "Kreined" FFG Endura ZDP-189 was:
1) The blade wasn't "balanced". Given how thin the edge was after the full flat grind, it felt out of proportion and gave me the impression that the tip would snap off at any moment. And also, since it was long and thin, I never really used the razor sharp tip much, nor did I feel the urge to. And even if I tried, since the tip was far away from the handle, I couldn't really exert much control over it...if that makes any sense.
2) It felt "too" light. The spec was 3.6 oz for a factory model, and that only got lighter after the regrind. For some reason, the lightness kind of bothers me. My Kershaw Shallot S110V feels more comfortable in my hand because of the sheer weight of it.
And just out of curiosity, does anyone know the hardness of the Manix 2 CTS-XHP?
