Here's my EDC: Murray Carter neck knife. Solid build, incredibly sharp, maintains a great edge and feels very comfortable. I'm in construction and utilize it for a variety of jobs.

Man so many great knives in this size range. I guess that's why I have so many but no customs but a Murry Carter would be my choice in custom

I can't post pics anymore, but I have a Busse Active Duty which is the baddest little big knife I have ever laid hands on. I got it in a trade and had Mikey Moto Leather make a pin-lok sheath for it. It is one of my favorites by far!

Can't say enough good things about this knife. INFI, scary sharp, but still fills your hand. Nice!

McGhee (Guinea Hog Forge) makes awesome blades, he's an ABS Master. The above is his smallest knife, the Piranha. He does runs in various steel, this one is s35. Under 3 bills.

There are a lot of Bark Rivers like that in that price range. I would look at the Carter-designed Adventurer series, the Bravo Micro and Bravo EDC, the Bumblebee, the City Knife, the EDC, the Essential, and several other models. You can get a very nice one in a high-end steel with fabulous handles for under $300 easy.

The adventurer is a great knife if you go the production route, fills the hand and light in the pocket. I carry mine almost every day.
If you do go custom you have a ton of great choices already listed. Also check out Nighthaxan's stuff on the exchange, I've been itching to get one of his stretched lime cutters for awhile now but his stuff sells out fast. His new little sodden knives come with a kydex pocket sheath with a pocket clip attached.

Scott makes really beautiful knives  Can't go wrong there. Still, as an alternative, I offer this for your consideration. The sheath is not as specified - otherwise I think it meets your requirements - small, custom, well priced, very nice too - (as soon as Photo Bucket releases the photos you can see for yourself ). Wow, thanks for sharing that. So many of the MS-stamped people are only doing carbon steel forging, and small knives are rare. That looks like exactly what I've been looking for in a small EDC fixed blade.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I just made arrangements to purchase this one from Alex. think it will fit my needs very well. Bob

You can not go wrong with Erik Loreno or Darrin Sanders. *Just noticed this was solved* In the case someone else wanted different recommendations.
