Hello all,

I'm looking for a small fixed blade knife to carry along with my handgun. I've looked
at various boot knives and neck knives and found a few that I liked. I was wondering
if anyone could suggest a couple of similar knives to expand my research. So far,
for daggers, I really like:

Fallkniven G1 Garm
Gerber Guardian Backup
AG Russell Sting

I've also looked at a couple of single edge knives like:

CRKT Kiss
Boker Bud Nealy
Benchmade Instigator
Camillus CUDA Arclite
Cold Steel Spike

The above seem to have a couple of drawbacks. One, they all seem to have
little or no gripping surface. This worries me a bit. Two, they seem to mostly
be made of pretty soft steels. Anyway, I'm looking for thoughts and opinions
on what I should be looking for, as well as suggestions for similar knives.
Thanks.

I have a STIFF KISS, and although it's not my favorite neck knife, it's a crazy deal...got mine for 15 dollars in the mall, so I'd imagine you could get it for like 10 online. Despite this, I really like it.

have you thought about the RAT-3 its in D2 and holds an edge nice, and is really a very nice size.

I took a look at the RAT-3. It looks pretty nice. I wish I could see a picture of it
next to something else for scale.

As for tying paracord around a handle, I don't know how I'd secure the paracord
in such a way that I wouldn't worry about it slipping off...

Thanks.

Okay,

TDI is not what I'm looking for. No karambits, no kris knives, no wyoming knives, no
sharpened pretzels, no escher-knot razors. I'm just looking for a compact fixed blade
knife that I can conceal on my person and doesn't take months of specialized training
to use effectively. I'm thinking standard boot knife, neck knife, or small dagger.
Preferrably made with a good steel, and with a blade shape conducive to both slashing
and penetration.

Thanks again.

The howling rat appears to be just a little bigger than what I'm looking for.
It's tough trying to decide how small is small enough, and I've found that if
I don't set specific limits I end up making exceptions for everything. So, in
an effort to minimize pain and suffering, I'm trying to keep the overal length
somewhat under 9" and the minimum blade length of at least 3.25" with a
longer blade preferable.

Thanks again.

The Dangler looks pretty good, but I have to say that I'm pretty intrigued by the
Fox Fighter. Unfortunately, he doesn't list the dimensions. Anyone happen to know
the overall length? From the picture, it appears to be similar in size to the Dangler.

This is the first time I've heard of Greco knives.

Thanks again.

I really liked the Nimravus Cub, but I can't seem to find any anywhere.
Also, I don't remember the overall length... Is it less than 9"? I'd LOVE
to find one of the old M2 models.

Have you checked out FehrmanKnives.com? They make great knives and their 3v is very sweet steel when I handled it in person. Shaved my arm at least...

TOPS scalpel.

Great concealment, .25" thichness, 1095 steel, razor sharp and very intimidating at first glance. Great as a neck knife or inside-the-pants conceal.

Cant go wrong for under $75

I checked out Fehrman, and his knives look pretty good; but still not quite what
I'm looking for. I'm trying to find something with a relatively thin blade profile
( at least from the back of the blade to the edge ), and not too much belly.
Lots of belly is great for a skinning knife, but I don't think that's what I want
in an SD knife...

The TOPS scalpel is getting closer... I just looked at Dawson's Ultralight
and Dawson's Neck Knife. Those looked pretty good. Greco's Fighting Fox
looks pretty good, but I haven't managed to find out specs. Fallkniven's
G1 Garm is still pretty high on my list.

Still open to suggestions. Thanks again.
