Looking for a small fixed blade

I am looking for a small fixed blade for edc. I have a folder now that works, but I've wondered what it's like to carry one, so I figured I would find out for myself (plus I get to feed this addiction ;)) Looking for 100 range if possible. Mainly looking at the Busse/Swamp Rat/Scrapyard. However open to all suggestions.

In terms of blade length and such, it will be edc, and I don't want it to be noticeable at all if possible. So 3" or less sounds right (help would be appreciated on that if someone knows better). Won't wear it as a neck knife as an added point.

Thanks.

I have a cold steel pendleton mini hunter in AUS-8 and i love it for EDC
an AG Russel bird & Trout would be good too

If you're thinking about carrying it concealed, be sure of your local laws first.

I'd highly reccomend the Benchmade 211 or 210tk Activator. There are also a number of really nice fixed blades in that size from Bark River Knife and Tool.

DLT Trading Company is a great dealer for BRKT, and a good place to check out all the different models at a glance.

Fallkniven F-1 is A+

Carrying concealed should be ok as long as I tell them what I am going to be using it for, i.e. cutting stuff that doesn't include humans ;)

I considered the F1 before making this thread, but I feel it may be a bit too large, especially considering I'm in Canada.

Gossman PSK (he has his own section here under manufacture's forum).

It can be ordered in O1 or A2 (this is what Busse used before they changed to INFI), naked, with paracord wrap, or micarta scales.

That's like searching for a single, beautiful, smart and horny women: It can be found but it's really rare and usually you're not the only one jumping on it.

I would go with a RC3. Or a Bark River PSK. Butch Harner has neckers that are not too expensive.

Well, my favorite small, meaning I can carry it in my pocket, fixed blades are:
1. Gene Ingram Pocket Hippo
2. Charles May Fireant
3. Tom Krein TK2
and if you do not want to go custom:
4. Nemesis Knives Arch Ally

Take a look at the Spyderco Moran. It is a nice small fixed blade that I have and like. I am not crazy about the sheath and one day, I'll talk to the Dozier folks about their fashioning a Sheath A for it (that is the slick horzontal belt sheath).

I don't have gobs of these small knives and cannot comment on the other recommendations, but I have a Dozier Canoe model that I like a bunch. It is just more than your budget. It runs around $200 depending on grips.

Check out the Fallkniven WM1 with the 3G steel blade. You can carry it as a necker(that's how I carry mine EDC) or you can put it in your pocket or on your belt.

Luck to ya!

*sigh* Alas, that's what I figured. :p

I really like the look of the RC3, how easy is it for edc?

I second that. And I will also jump on any $100 small Busse, just so you guys know. :D

With that said, if you're willing to shell out the dough and want a Busse, then the Game Warden is a great choice. Sure, it has an annoying choil, but the thinner GWs are tough little bastards, and also cut well.

If the F-1 is too large, I would Barkie mini-Canadian. You are in Canada after all :D
