Looking for a solid EDC

ZT's, Kizers, Spydercos.

ZT 0801 is a good model, the Spyderco Gayle Bradley is becoming a classic, and the larger Kizers are a poor man's Sebenza.
 
Consider the Manix 2 with s30v steel. The s110v is too hard to sharpen. Also look at the Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. With your budget, you could get both and have a fine work knife and a great woods/hunting knife.
