Looking for a Spyderco that is similar to the Endura 4 but "nicer"

ha ha I once had A GUY freekout over a FRN Manix while I was helping him open some packaging on a new product so he could check it out easier .
He called my Manix : DANG A BOWIE KNIFE ! 🙀
lol I’ve had that reaction and always thought how they’d freak out if they knew I had a 357 on my hip.

Or a fixie on my weak side.

Most people don’t see the world as it truly is, they see it how they wish it was.

I'll probably regret this and I tend to be too blunt and please don't take offence and I have customers who carry concealed . . .
and I have spent most of my life traveling alone (probably because of questions like I am about to ask ) , when I was twelve or so I rode my bike alone on the high ways and into the mountains or prairies , some times fifty miles out and fifty miles back . . .
(never felt threatened or in danger other than poor drivers which the gun wouldn't fix . . . lawfully . . . )

I always want to ask : how many people have you shot ?

Probability of needing a gun = low

Risk of death IF a gun is needed and not possessed is high.

Low probability but high risk of death = reasonable to hedge against.

No offense taken. Carrying a firearm is a very personal choice. Whether you approve of it or not won’t change what I do, and I won’t think less of you if you have a different practice than I.

Your question reminds me of my wife. After I got my CCW she would pat me down and then ask who I was going to shoot. Fast forward a couple years...we were at church on a Saturday night with the young children practicing a program that they would present the next day. Suddenly the building was surrounded by 11 cop cars. A carjacker had dumped the stolen vehicle in our parking lot, and the police were concerned that the person might be in the building. As soon as my wife heard this, she approached me, patted my pistol, and asked "You'll take care of me, won't you?". Since that day she has not given me grief about carrying.

Another time I was taking the young women from church on an overnight backpacking trip. A woman who had two daughters going on the trip approached me and said "You will be taking a gun on this trip?" I answered that I usually didn't carry when backpacking because of the weight. To which she said "You will be taking a gun on this trip!"

As my brother likes to say, carrying concealed is like having a fire extinguisher in your kitchen. You hope you never need to use it, but if you do, you need it badly and you need it right now.

The PM2 blade is too short [3.44" with 3.0" cutting edge]. The Military2 is too long [4.0" with 3.7" cutting edge]. The Endura 4 has the perfect blade length for me [3.75" with 3.4" cutting edge].

The reason I think the Military2 is too long is because I'm shy about whipping it out in front of people at work because it's big and scary. My Endura4 is the biggest knife that I use in front of coworkers, even though it's only a tad shorter, because the blade is less heavy duty/aggressive, and also it has friendly looking blue scales. My Para2, which I've carried regularly for over a decade, now feels short. And the Military has such a long handle that I have to scoot my hand up to the spydie hole when I pull it out of my pocket.

I'm not sure if blade length or edge length contributes more to the perception of length. There's also the choil which has some interplay with received length, but my Endura has never felt lacking without a choil.

I've carried an Endura for a couple years now and it's great, but isn't as premium feeling as the other two. The back lock is bland and the materials are meh. It has a good form factor though and is nimble for it's size. It's just not quite what I want. Any suggestions?

To answer the OP, I second the GB2. It feels much nicer than the Military, PM2, or Endura. It just oozes quality.

I'm curious to see what OP has chosen.
I've postponed the decision due to another knife. CRK emailed me and said that they are ready for me to send in my Sebenza 21 to be fit for a replacement blade in magnacut. So now I have another month or two to decide on the next Spydie.
