Ok I am looking for a thin, lightweight folder. Got to have a thumb stud or a hole, I'd prefer a thumb stud but lets see what comes up.
And its got to have a 3.00" blade or less to comply with uk laws.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Benchmade 330 is nice. Can you carry a knife with a lock over there?

Spyderco Delica is about as good as they get for your specs, I personally like the Benchmade Mini griptilians better, but they are not quite as light or thin.

I would like to add the Benchmade 770 and 705 to that list. I also have a Spyderco Navigator, and that is a great small folder!

soul blade, Spyderco specializes in small utilitarian knives. Check out the Jester, just under a 2" blade, choice of colored handles to make it look less threatening. It does have a lock back.

If you want a more subtle locking mechanism, the Meerkat integrates the lock invisibly in the handle. 2" blade, 3.25" handle.

The Dragonfly is the classic small knife, and the Cricket is a tiny and different approach, also very unobtrusive.

Of course, the ultimate in "flat" is the Spydercard, shaped and sized like a credit card, but cuts like a razor. A great little very unusual knife, and a favorite of mine.

I don't always carry anything else besides my SAKs, but today I have my Kershaw Vapor with me. It may not be as light as you would want. It is all metal, scales etc. It is a frame lock and locks up like a vault. Not including the clip it is just a hair over 1/4" thick (about 8mm) a little over an inch (27mm) from back of handle to spine of blade closed. Blade is a little over 2 7/8" (74-75mm) of recurved perfection. I'm not positive of which steel, but I know it's not the latest greatest stuff.

I wear jeans almost exclusively. Jeans that fit (not baggy with huge pockets). I keep an EDC (if I have one that day) clipped at the back of my right front pocket. My wad of keys are in there and must be accessed several times a day and I can get 'em no problem when I carry the Vapor.

Best part for me is I got one made in Japan rather than China, at Walmart for less than 20 bucks. (and found another Japan one as a spare!)

Here is a link (not neccesarily the best price but a good picture!)

Hope it works!

The Spyderco Delica is my suggestion...
The FRN model has a 3 inch blade, with a weight of 1.9 oz.
The stainless Delica has a 2&7/8ths inch blade, with a weight of 4 ounces.

I would recommend either of the Benchmade mini-Griptilians. I like the design of the 555 but the 556 has thumbstuds, which you apparently prefer.

These knives are in my opinion considerably better than other lockback Zytel "lightweight" knives from popular manufacturers.

About the only point where they do worse than unlined FRn knives is in the weight and thickness department.

I feel that the weight difference is negligible:
Benchmade mini-Griptilian with 2 full liners and 3 inch blade: 2.56 oz.

Spyderco Delica with 0 full liners and 3 inch blade: 1.9 oz.

Total difference = .66 oz.

Considering that a US penny weighs approximately .088 ounces the weight difference could easily be eclipsed by a bit of pocket change or an average key chain.

The thickness difference is there, but quite small. I have often forgot that I had my mini-Grip on me because it disappears in a pocket.

Soul blade, the knife you seek is the Spyderco Pride.

I would also recommend several of the aforementioned knives: 1. Delica, 2. Leek, 3. Dragonfly, 4. Navigator. Any of these would fit your parameters. I have them all and know them to be top notch.

A nice point about the Pride is that it's a slipjoint -- no lock on the blade. I believe this makes it more comfortable in the view of British law.

How about a Gerber LST? Lightweight, strong, can be opened one handed. If zytel doesn't float your boat, how about the Benchmade 310? Titanium handles, the new Levitator lock, and a great blade shape.

it's a no brainer to me. A Spyderco Endura/Delica would do nicely.

Al Mar fits this bill better than the rest, the Al Mar: Eagle Talon, Falcon Talon, Hawk Talon or any of these in the ultralight series is perfect, all thin linen micarta handles, flat ground blades, super sharp AUS-8 steel, thumbstud, reversible pocket clip. I carry a Hawk Ultralight plain edge as a dress knife and have for about 4 years and have been happy with and impressed with the edge retention and ability to be sharpened razor sharp. Can't go wrong with one.

By the way el cid thats the 1st pride I have seen with the British flag looks nice.

William Henry Evolution series of knives fits that bill to a T. They are worth looking into.
