Sicut here in australia made one for the SAS, i think that there is a little tanto model as well

from memory they are about 10cm long not sure what that is in inches
Very nice, and cheap, too. I'm a big fan of ring grips because they generally thin down the knife while still offering good grip. It is that same reason that I love the Subcom series so much. It is quite a shame they lose their edge so quickly, though.Have you also looked at the CRKT Ringer series? There are a few different styles like hawkbill and skinner/guthook. Here is a link to info on them. I have the hawkbill and it is a good little neck knife.
This is pretty much perfect sans cost. Looks like it has a very comfortable grip, just strokes 5 inches, and BRKT has a reputation to back it up. :thumbup:Handle may be too thick but check out the 5' Bark River Mikro Canadian II, it's stainless.........
If I want access to the knife while I'm there with the pivot all ground up with grime, it scratches awfully. And like I said, fewer moving parts means more reliable. Why did you have such a hard time cleaning out your folder?
I get a bunch of sand in my folders all the time and with running water they are pretty darn easy to get clean.
Just run water over the knife for a few minutes opening and closing and it will be grit free. Can even blast it with compressed air if you have it or WD40 after to drive out the water. A drop of lube after it has set awhile and it's good to go.
I have cleaned a lot of knives like this and never had sand turn into a problem. Most of them will work fine even when packed with sand, it just sounds terrible while using it.
4 inches, and that looks very useful. I think it would be too difficult to get here in the States, though, since I can hardly find any information on the company.Sicut here in australia made one for the SAS, i think that there is a little tanto model as well

Too long, unfortunately...Maybe a Gerber River Shorty....

It's difficult to find the right sizes, and since I'm going to be using this as an EDC, I'd prefer something of decent quality.Just get any fixed blade with a good coating and keep the knife sharp. Problem solved. A bagillion options on the market.
I don't know what you're willing to spend but you should be able to find a micarta Mikro II under $75 possibly black micarta under $60. For 1/2 inch more I think they have the pro scalpel. Here's a thread on both with pictures. This is pretty much perfect sans cost. Looks like it has a very comfortable grip, just strokes 5 inches, and BRKT has a reputation to back it up.

Spyderco H1 Ladybug. Then get someone like STR to mount it into a fixed handle. Under 5", completely rust resistant.
There has been talk about wanting a smaller H1 fixed blade. I don't know if it's going anywhere though.
That's EXACTLY what I was looking for... except it's an inch too long.
