Does anyone make slipjoint with a clip blade and either a sheepsfoot, wharncliffe, or coping blade? On the same end like a trapper, or on either end like a moose or muskrat. I was thinking something the size of a medium or large trapper. I'd like something like that, but of course, that doesn't mean anyone else would, so maybe there's a reason I've never seen one. I just know that I like a full size clip point blade and a shorter blade with little to no bevel, but don't really care for thickness of a stockman.

Come to think of it, I think I've seen a trapper with a wharncliffe from Case maybe?

Stockyard Whittler.

I was thinking just two blades to keep it a bit slimmer. Are those stockyard whittlers on the slimmer side?

That red is pretty bitchin, I'm digging it.

Yes, you have. Yes, it is.

Case's "Hawbaker Special" was a Muskrat with a clip and a wharncliffe. They also make a Mini-trapper and a Bose model is a similar combination.

Searching Hawbaker Knife will bring up some similar made by other companies too, mostly Queen/Queen contracts.

Right on!

I guess it's not that weird a design after all.

I also guess I should have looked just a little harder! This is awesome, thanks and keep 'em coming!

Yeah, straight edge of some kind plus clip is relatively common. Of ther examples include the original run of #38 whittlers from GEC, the mini and tiny trappers from case, improved moose (I think) and trappers from GEC, most stockman patterns, the #48 whittlers from Queen (the pre-2016 Queen), and the 2017 run of GEC #35 churchills… just to name a few.

Open it up further by allowing spear point blades and you get even more choices like the 2019 run of Eureka jacks from GEC.

In addition to the Wharncliffe tiny trapper and Wharncliffe mini trapper, Case did make a full size Wharncliffe trapper at one time. (I almost bought one but passed on it for some reason.) You might be able to find one somewhere. If you have anywhere between a few hundred and a few thousand to spend you should be able to find a Tony Bose Wharncliffe trapper, too!
