Looking for a weird slipjoint pattern

I had forgotten that I looked for a similar knife (using a Trapper frame) and couldn't find one at the time, so I ginned one up. It was fairly simple, found the least expensive version I could (yellow Delrin) of a Case 07 frame and reshaped the blade. Hard part is cutting out a suitable nail-nick. I gave this one to a good hunting/fishing buddy, going to mod up another one soon. OH

Turns out there's quite a few more than I thought. I saw that Case with the 154CM blades, and I like 154CM. The price hurts, I'll sleep on it and see how much I really want it.

I don't have a GEC yet either, so who knows.

I don't own any Rough Ryders, and I hear fine things about them, and they're cheap, but a wharncliffe main is not the arrangement I'm looking for.

Thanks again, I have a lot more stuff to look at and chase down now.

You can also find SAKs, Gardeners, double ended with a straight edge blade and a curved, plus bonus bark lifter. The Trapper is called a WT from Bose, the Muskrats are an old design made for a hardware store, Hawbaker; Queen, Schrade, others all made them, the best are single spring, slim pocket carry. GEC has a number of patterns, 35 Churchill, 82 Possum Skinner, that are single springers. Case used to make a Pen knife with a Clip main and Pen opposite, easy mod to the pen and you have a Coping blade. Any 3 blade will generally fill your requirements, either Stockman or Whittler. Check some of the old patterns in the pinned post. Real old model called the Surveyor works too, as well as some Moose patterns. GEC has a good page on their patterns, and AAPK, as well as Queen Cutlery History will have numbers of pics of possibilities. Good luck 👍. Oh, some older Wengers had Spear mains with small Clip combos. Best of luck.
Thanks,
Neal.

Don't forget the recent GEC #86 pattern.

Or you can take many 2-blade jacks and regrind one of the blades to make just what you want. 3¾" RR Copperhead, reground.

Rough Ryder's are pretty dang good for the most part, bonus of being less expensive. Although you mentioned a wharnclife main isn't what you're looking for, I included one in these pics for comparisons sake. Certain models of the RR trappers have double pulls on the blades, which means if you mod the spey you still have a nail nick. While Old Hunter Old Hunter has a great mod going, having a factory pull makes things easier. It's fun to mod knives that are common, and have a "custom" job. Rough Ryder's are affordable enough that if you ruin it you haven't busted your wallet either. 20230107_125352.jpg20230107_125401.jpg
Before I got a RR wharncliffe I modded this one to have a wharncliffe, and it was made easier by having the double pulls.
Edit to add, the modded knife was also re-dyed with rit,it was a mottled orange color.
